Did you know that streaming videos on YouTube is responsible for emitting the equivalent annual carbon dioxide output of Glasgow, the Scottish city that recently hosted the Cop26 climate summit? It's not just YouTube, of course. What we stream via platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, iPlayer, Disney+ and Spotify all add to our carbon footprint due to the amount of electricity required during the process of streaming.
